New Works Up, SegwaySingapore and 360Fashion Network

06 July 2011, 03:54
It's been awhile since we've updated, no it's not because there hasn't been any action, on the contrary, there's been so much action that we haven't had time to update some of those works on the site. Which brings us to the point of this post, we have added 2 of our works in the past year-- SegwaySingapore.com and 360Fashion Network. Over the next few days, we will continue to update the site with the exciting designs we've been churning out. :)

The 2 websites being featured in this post are 2 entirely different extremes of the website scope. One, a product showcase of a classy and modern electronic vehicle, that needed to be accessible to all.

The other, an elite network of Fashion professionals, linked together by their passion for fashion, and love or technology.

Let's get introduced. ;)

SegwaySingapore.com

Gogreen Holdings had acquired the rights as the official distributor of Segway® Personal Transporters in Singapore. With us being their long-running web design crew, we were naturally asked to come up with a website for the new venture.

The brief was simple, produce a Segway® PT Franchise website using the Audi Singapore website as a reference.

We're not fans of copying design, Picasso once said, " Good artists copy, great artists steal ".

Hence we borrowed the look, and adapted it with our own touch. The idea was to present the Segway® catalogue in a classy and modern fashion, but still remain very accessibile to the average consumer. There is a good reason behind the concept:

A basic Segway® PT costs about USD $5000 minimum , placing it out of reach of the average consumer. However, anyone can ride a Segway® for a small fee at Gogreen Holding's Segway® attractions at Sentosa Island, Singapore. Therefore it is important to point out that this is not merely a product for the high and elite!

All in all, I think we achieved what we had set out for. The site looked nothing like the Audi Singapore website, but yet it did retain similar elements. It was a very unique alternative to the other Segway® template-ed franchisees.

360Fashion Network

Yes, officially, the 360 and Fashion words are stuck together.

360Fashion Network is the brainchild of Supermodel-Techie-Entrepreneur, Anina Net.

Anina started 360Fashion Network as a platform to connect fashion professionals in the industry together, and at the same time provide them a common platform for expressing their works and blogs.

To date, it has grown to a sizable sum of members from fellow supermodels to world class photographers to some of the top indie fashion labels.

However it was struggling on an outdated blogging platform, with literally no visual identity of its own.

We came in to migrate the entire network to a Wordpress multi-site , while retaining most of the original features. We gave it a modern techie web 2.0 look, but avoided becoming too tech focused as the visitors are still primarily people in the fashion industry. It had to be simple and clean, like a fashion magazine.

Banners, image thumbnails were used to bring out the flavor of the content, against the simplistic web 2.0 design. The fashionista photos not only stood out more, everything simply to complemented one another.

Needless to say, the crowd were pleased and thrilled with the new platform, readers and publishers alike. The site was alot more professional looking, and more importantly, it communicated effectively to people, about what 360Fashion Network is about.
