The 1HaoKa website was initially conceived in early 2010 as an idea for a business. We were commissioned to design the website based on a set of specifications and design style. We were only askekd to provide the visual designs, and we delivered the PSDs for their holding company's developers to implement. Unsurprisingly for local China developers, they did a horrible job in translating PSD->Html/CSS , and built the whole site upon table after table.

Soon after alpha testing, response for the system promising, and I, the owner of Fred Lin Design Studio was invited to join their firm as a part-time design consultant, mainly for the design and front-end development of the new 1HaoKa website. 

I single-handedly redesign the entire look, and produced static html/css mock ups for their developers to implement. The entire sting took less than a month to accomplish, and pretty soon we had a beautiful beta up. 

My goal then was simple, to create the most fancy and bold looking Chinese online service website that used modern web standards.

The result while imperfect in many ways due to the framework used (I would have preferred to have built the site with PHP using CodeIgniter) , the result was acceptable. The users were impressed, and venues were pleased to see a more professional looking website that presented their businesses.

I'm looking forward to the official launch. ;)
